EUINEC FP7 Training – Focus on ICT and Energy - Dayananda Sagar Institutions - 2 February 2010
The main aim of this training Programme was to create awareness about Seventh Framework Programme (FP7). EIRC was responsible in brining about 75 delegates from both industry and academia to participate in the training event. The EUINEC training programme consisted of morning session and afternoon session. The morning session began with the inaugural function and then moved to the general session wherein experts from Europe and India explained on the FP7 Programme (eligibility criteria, funding schemes etc); Participation rules (opportunities); Project proposal development (tips on FP7 proposal development, basic rules etc); Partner Search (how to get involved, Indian experience in European FP7 projects in both ICT and Energy areas etc). The afternoon session focused on the IPR issues (how to protect intellectual property rights), financial issues in FP7, FP7 project management (financial reporting, technical reporting). In the afternoon session experts also mentioned about the currently open ICT and energy call for proposals and deadlines. The training programme gave participants hands on approach on the procedures of research proposal development, from call identification to proposal submission, including financial issues and how to cooperate for European funding. The training programme was concluded by the conducting FP7 quiz and collecting feedback forms from all the delegates in order to assess the success of the event.
GVK Biosciences partners ResearchPoint Global
GVK Biosciences, the Hyderabad-based contract research firm, has announced that it has partnered with ResearchPoint Global, the US-based clinical organisation. Manni Kantipudi, President, GVK Biosciences, said, “This partnership enables GVK Bio to participate in global trials while focusing on local investigators, recruitment and leveraging lower local costs.”
Together, the two companies which are full service contract research organisations (CROs) will offer access to medical writing, clinical data management and biostatistics, as well as quicker patient recruitment. The partnership gives RPG an entry into the Indian market which offers the advantages of well-established regulations and qualified medical personnel.
